ABOUT ME
I grew up in Lincolnshire and feel a strong connection to the place I grew up in. Many of my images are of landscapes and spaces that I have known since childhood, that I am connected to and which have shaped me and my relationship with the world. Some are beautiful in their grandeur, the huge skies of Lincolnshire, the great expanses of windblown sand, the never-ending flatness of fields stretching far into the distance – the ever-present reminder of how small we are. Yet for me there is comfort and calm to be found in this vastness and the comforting skies. A sense of belonging and place that comes from knowing you are a small part of something much, much bigger. Some of the photographs close in on the detail, the small bits of beauty and the patterns that we can so easily miss because of the vastness of the land, sea and skies that, to me, make Lincolnshire unique. Photography is a way of understanding my place and my emotional connection with the places I know and love and I hope that they remind people of the 'feeling' of being in that place or somewhere similar.
